Many fleet operators apply custom vehicle wraps on their forklifts to mark equipment ownership, display safety prompts or add proper identification, and when the wraps get worn, faded or need replacement after long term use, many people worry that improper removal will scratch or peel off the original paint, which will bring extra unnecessary maintenance cost for the handling equipment. First, you need to prepare a low-heat hot air tool, soft plastic scraper, non-corrosive adhesive remover and clean microfiber cloth in advance, never use sharp metal blades which will easily leave deep and permanent scratches on the paint surface. Then you can heat the edge of the wrap with the hot air tool, keep the surface temperature at 40 to 60 degrees Celsius, do not overheat the local area to avoid scalding the solid paint layer, gently lift the edge of the wrap with the soft scraper, then tear the wrap slowly at a 15 to 30 degree angle, do not pull hard in vertical direction which may leave large amount of stubborn residual adhesive. After tearing off all the wrap, spray a small amount of non-corrosive adhesive remover on the residual glue, wait for 2 to 3 minutes to let the remover dissolve the glue, then wipe the residual glue away gently with clean microfiber cloth, finally clean the whole paint surface with mild soapy water to remove all residual cleaning agent.
